When you begin your document sending journey here at BridgeU, one of the required actions is uploading documents for students. Ensuring the correct document type and giving the document a clear display name (so you don't mistakenly select the wrong document to submit) is important.
If you've mistakenly uploaded an incorrect document or no longer need a document for the student's applications, and you want to tidy things up quickly, this article will guide you on how to delete a document.
How to delete a document
Step 1: Go to the student’s Document Sending page and open the Documents overlay to view all uploaded files.
Step 2: Locate the document you wish to remove and click the trash bin icon located on the right-side of the document row. (see image below)
Step 3: If the document is not being used in any Common App form, you will be prompted with a confirmation pop-up which you can then click the red delete button to permanently remove the file from the student's Documents locker.
If the file cannot be deleted because it is in-use, you will need to go back to the Common App form that the exact document is currently attached to and replace it with a different document.
Once you've replace the document, the file you are looking to delete is now "released" and you will be able to successfully delete the document from the Documents section.
Deleting a Teacher Recommendation form (Common App)
If you need to delete a Recommendation letter, this can be done in the Documents overlay as long as it has not been sent to a university.
Step 1: Go into the student's Documents and scroll down to the Recommendation Letters section.
Step 2: Locate the recommendation letter you wish to delete and click the trash bin icon located to the right of the row. As long as the letter has not been sent to any universities, you should be able to successfully delete the recommendation letter.
There will be a confirmation that the letter has successfully deleted in a green banner at the top of the page.
