What is a trip status in Brindlechute?

Trip Status tracks whether the tasks on a trip's checklist are done and current, separate from payment status.

What Trip Status Tracks

Trip Status tracks the tasks on a trip's checklist and whether they've been done on time. Your checklist is driven by how your experiences are set up, so what appears on a trip — and what has to be finished before it clears — differs from one outfitter to the next.

Trip Status is separate from payment — a trip can show as overdue even if fully paid.

How Trip Status Works

Status

Color

What It Means

Ready

Green

Everything due so far is done

In Progress

Yellow

Tasks are coming due, but nothing is past due

Overdue

Red

One or more tasks are past due

Tasks come due in stages as the trip approaches, so a trip that's Ready two days out can move to In Progress on the day of the trip, when the next set of tasks comes due.

A missed task doesn't stop counting when its stage passes. One task left pending from an earlier stage keeps the trip Overdue even after the later work is done, until it's completed — or deleted, if it can no longer be completed.

Timing Drives Status Changes

Trip Status isn’t static — it evolves as the trip approaches and concludes.

Examples:

  • A trip might appear ready two days before departure but shift to overdue after the trip if a task is still outstanding.

  • A trip that looks fine today may turn overdue tomorrow if a deadline or follow-up window passes.

Staying ready means staying current — not just checking boxes once.

If a task can't be completed — for example, client tasks belonging to someone who booked a spot but never came — you can delete it from the trip so the status can clear. See Delete a Task from a Trip Checklist.

Why It Matters

  • Keeps your compliance and internal reports accurate

  • Ensures you have complete documentation before and after each trip

  • Prevents trips from falling through the cracks due to missed follow-ups

Which of these apply depends on how your experiences are set up.

Trip Status gives you a clear operational signal: what’s ready, what’s lagging, and what needs action.
