How member roles and permissions work in Brindlechute

Assign Admin, Booking Manager Full, or Booking Manager roles, then adjust each role's permissions to match how your operation runs.

Brindlechute is built for teams, but not every staff member needs access to critical settings. Use roles to give owners and managers full control, while shop staff and support members handle bookings and trip logistics—without risking accidental changes to your outfitter setup.

How to Assign or Change a Role

  1. Open the Admin Panel and click “Members”
Found in the top-left corner of your dashboard.

  2. Use the role dropdown next to a member
Choose Admin, Booking Manager Full, or Booking Manager. The dropdown shows a summary of what each role can access.

  3. You're done
    Changes apply instantly.

New members join your organization with the Admin role by default. Review each member's role after they join to make sure their access matches their responsibilities.

The Three Roles at a Glance

Booking Manager
Built for day-to-day booking operations. Starts with the narrowest access of the three.

Booking Manager Full
Built for staff who also handle the financial side: cancellations, refunds, guide pay, and financial reports.

Admin
Full access to everything, including organization settings, catalog, analytics, and the Compliance Hub (Permits, Reporting, and Locations).

Each role arrives with a starting set of permissions, and you can adjust most of them to fit how your operation runs.

Default Permissions

Every role starts with the access below. These are starting points, not fixed limits — see Customizing Role Permissions to change them.

You can view this breakdown anytime in the app under Members → Role permissions, where it reflects your organization's current setup rather than the defaults.

Customizing Role Permissions

  1. Open Organization settings and click “Members”

  2. Select the “Role permissions” tab

  3. Click the icon in the column for the role you want to change
A red ✕ becomes a green ✓ to grant access, and a green ✓ becomes a red ✕ to remove it.

  4. Click “Save”
A pending change counter appears at the bottom of the table. Nothing takes effect until you save, and Cancel discards everything staged.

Permissions apply to the role, not to one person. If you have three Booking Managers and you grant the role access to Experiences, all three get it.

What Can't Be Changed

Two things are fixed:

  • Organization Settings can't be granted to Booking Manager or Booking Manager Full. If someone needs to edit organization settings, change their role to Admin instead.

  • Admin always has full access to everything and can't be reduced.

Use the Admin role only for those who need access to settings and system-wide configuration.
