How is trip status different from booking payment status?

Two tools—Trip Status and Booking Payment Status—help manage bookings. Both appear in the calendar and trip view but have distinct roles.

Side-by-Side Comparison

Status Type

What It Tracks

Purpose

Booking Payment Status

Whether the client has paid according to your payment policy

Financial progress and payment follow-up

Trip Status

Whether all checklists and trip tasks are complete and on time

Operational readiness and compliance

When the Two May Not Match

A trip can be:

  • Fully paid (green payment status) but missing documents (red trip status)

  • Incomplete payment (red payment status) but checklist-complete (green trip status — though rare)

This explains why some trips are red even if everything seems paid.

Example Scenarios

Status Combo

What It Means

Green Trip + Red Payment

The client hasn’t paid — financial follow-up needed

Red Trip + Green Payment

The client has paid, but documents or reports are missing

Red Both

The trip has issues with both payment and checklist tasks

Green Both

Trip is fully paid and fully compliant — no action needed

How to Respond

  • For Booking Payment Status issues:
Navigate to Manage Booking > View Invoice to resend payment reminders or adjust due dates.

  • For Trip Status issues:
Go to the Pre-Trip or Post-Trip tabs in Trip Details to resolve missing checklist items.

Summary

If you ever wonder why a trip is red, always check both statuses. Together, they provide full visibility into what’s ready, what’s at risk, and where to take action.
