If you have permission to manage a guide's calendar — whether the guide granted it directly or Brindlechute set it up for you — you can block time right from their profile. This removes availability during those periods and prevents the guide from being assigned to trips at that time.
This is how outfitters mark a day off for a guide on their roster — for example, when a guide is on vacation, taking personal time, or being held for another commitment.
You can block entire days or specific hours within a day, depending on the guide's availability.
Before You Start
The guide must allow outfitters to manage their calendar in their profile settings.
If this permission is not enabled, you will not be able to block dates or times.
Steps to Block Dates or Times for a Guide
Step 1: Go to Guides
From your dashboard, click Guides.
Step 2: Select the Guide
Choose the guide whose availability you want to manage.
Step 3: Open the Calendar
Click Calendar in the guide's profile.
Step 4: Click Add Block Time
On the right side, click Add Block Time.
Step 5: Choose the Type of Block
You can block either:
All Day – Leave All Day checked to block the guide for the entire day.
Specific Hours – Uncheck All Day, then select the date, start time, and end time you want to block.
Example:
If a guide has personal errands in the morning, you might block 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM so they can still be scheduled for afternoon trips.
Step 6: Save the Block
Click Save to apply the block to the guide's calendar.
What Happens After Blocking
The guide will not appear available during the blocked time.
Full-day blocks remove availability for the entire date.
Partial-day blocks prevent the guide from being scheduled only during the selected hours.
The blocked time will appear on the guide's calendar for reference.
⚠️ Note: Blocks created by an outfitter are visible to all outfitters connected to that guide — not just the outfitter who created the block.
