Availability Settings decide how Brindlechute calculates how many trips can be booked online. Additional Slots let an outfitter add extra booking capacity on top of that base setup. Together, these settings control whether online booking is limited by location capacity, guide availability, or a simple number of bookable spots.
Availability Settings control how Brindlechute counts available spots for online booking.
How to update Availability Settings
Go to Trip Calendar and click Online Availability Settings.
Select Manage Online Booking.
Scroll down to Availability Settings.
Choose the option that fits how booking capacity should be counted.
Save the changes.
How Availability Settings work
Availability is built from one or more limit rules. A single rule is enough for most setups, and each rule has a dropdown with five options: Locations, Guides, Slots, Request to book, and Fully blocked.
To require more than one condition, click Add limit rule. Stacked rules are joined by AND, so a booking has to clear every rule before it is offered as an instant booking. A setup of Locations AND Guides means the booking needs both room at a location and an available guide.
Reminder: Only one Guides rule can be added. The Guides and Locations options are available to full outfitter organizations only.
Guides
A Guides rule bases availability on guide availability for that date and time. Its Advanced settings dropdown offers two choices:
All guides — counts every guide in the organization. Use this when any available guide could cover the trip.
Eligible guides — counts only guides who are both marked eligible to run that experience and available for that date and time. Use this when an experience can only be run by qualified, approved, or specially assigned guides.
Reminder: A Guides rule starts on All guides. Switch it to Eligible guides if guide eligibility should affect availability, and confirm each guide is marked eligible for the experience.
Locations
A Locations rule bases availability on how much capacity is left at the locations selected in that rule, rather than on guide count. Choose any mix of specific locations and location groups in the rule's Advanced settings. The booking only has to fit at one of them.
Every location or group selected must already have a capacity limit set on its permit. Locations without a limit read as unlimited and cannot be selected.

Slots
A Slots rule bases availability on a fixed number of bookable spots instead of guides or locations. This gives direct control over how many bookings can come in online.
Use this when online booking capacity should follow a set number. For example, a rule set to 3 slots lets guests book that experience up to three times for that day or time slot, based on how the experience is configured.
Request to book and Fully blocked
Request to book sends every online booking in as a request regardless of availability. Use this when each booking should be reviewed and confirmed manually.
Fully blocked turns online booking off entirely. Use this when an experience should not be bookable online.
How Additional Slots work
Additional Slots add extra booking capacity on top of a rule's own count.
This can be used as a buffer when actual booking capacity may be higher than the counted guides alone would allow.
For example:
a Guides rule set to Eligible guides
there are 2 eligible and available guides
2 additional slots are added
In that setup, online booking can allow more total bookings than guide availability alone.
Additional Slots are offered on Guides and Slots rules. They are not offered on Locations rules, because location capacity is shared across bookings and extra slots would stack without a real ceiling.
When to use each option
Use Locations when the real constraint is ground rather than staffing — permits, beats, blinds, or any location carrying a capacity limit.
Use Guides when availability should follow the guide roster, set to All guides for the full roster or Eligible guides when only approved guides should count.
Use Slots when booking capacity should be controlled with a fixed number of bookable spots.
Use Request to book when every online booking should arrive as a request for review.
Use Fully blocked when online booking should be turned off.
Use Additional Slots when a little extra online capacity is needed on top of a Guides or Slots rule as a buffer.
Stack rules with Add limit rule when a booking should clear more than one condition before it is offered instantly.
Availability Settings and Additional Slots help match online booking capacity to how trips are actually run. Whether booking availability should follow location capacity, guide availability, or a set number of spots, these settings make it easier to control what guests can instantly book online.
