Guide Report: System Default Fields

An overview of the fields that appear on every guide report by default.

Every guide report includes a set of system default fields that cannot be removed or edited. These fields capture the core information needed for each trip and are present on all reports, regardless of how your report has been configured.

For information on adding custom fields to your guide report, see Customizing the Guide Report.

Clients Guided

Guides are required to select which clients they guided during the trip. This field ensures accurate client tracking across your reports.

Trip Details

The Trip Details section captures key information about how each trip was run:

  • Trip Type — Whether the trip was a float, wade, hunt, or ice fishing trip

  • Area — A searchable dropdown where guides select the river or location for the trip

  • Put-In — Where the boat was put in

  • Take-Out — Where the boat was taken out

How Good Was This Trip?

This section allows guides to provide feedback on the overall trip experience. It includes two optional components you can turn on or off depending on your team's needs:

  • How Good Was the Fishing? — A five-star scale for guides to rate the overall quality of the trip

  • Any Comments? — A free-text field for additional notes or observations

To turn either off:

  1. From the dashboard, navigate to Guides.

  2. In the top right, click Modify Guide Report.

  3. Scroll down to the How Good Was This Trip? section under System Fields.

  4. Toggle off How Good Was the Fishing? and/or Any Comments? as needed.

What guides write in Any Comments? can also be read across all trips at once, without opening each report — see What's Inside the Guide Payment Report.

System default fields are consistent across all reports, ensuring the core trip information is always captured.
