When you assign a trip, you can now see upfront whether each guide will be a Direct assign or Needs request — right in the guide selector, before you pick one. This works when your guide assignment mode is set to By guide's preference, where each guide decides how they take on your trips from within the app.
What you'll see when assigning
In the guide selector, each guide is tagged based on their availability setting and how close the trip is:
🟢 Direct assign — selecting this guide assigns the trip immediately.
🟠 Needs request — selecting this guide sends a request they'll need to accept.
So you know before you click how the assignment will go through.
