Brindlechute doesn't have a separate gift card feature — instead, use a promo code to apply a gift card's value to a booking. Since you already received the money when the gift card was sold, the promo code reduces the booking balance by that amount rather than recording a new payment.
Step 1: Create a promo code for the gift card
In the left sidebar, under Products, click Promo codes. Then click Generate code in the top right.
Name the code so it's easy to identify — for example, the recipient's name (codes must be at least 6 characters and use letters and numbers).
Set the discount to the gift card's value — either a fixed dollar amount (e.g., $400) or 100% if it covers the full trip.
Limit usage to one time so the code can't be reused.
Optionally, set the expiration date to the day you apply it.

Step 2: Apply the code to the booking
Open the booking, click Edit, scroll to Invoice Summary, and click Set booking discount or promo code. In the pop-up, choose Promo Code, select the gift card code from the dropdown, and click Save. Then click Save at the top right to apply the changes.
The gift card amount is deducted from the invoice, and the code name appears on the booking — so it's clear a gift card was used. For full details, see How to Apply a Promo Code to a Booking.
TIP: If the gift card covers the full balance, the booking will show as fully paid with nothing left to collect.
