When a guide pay rule is set to a percentage of trip price, Brindlechute determines the trip price using one of two methods. By default, all organizations use the booking amount method. The gross revenue method is enabled by the Brindlechute team on request.
Booking Amount (Default)
The trip price is the actual amount paid on the booking — including any pricing overrides and after any discounts — divided by the number of trip units. The guide's percentage is applied to that per-unit amount.
Gross Revenue per Unit (Available on Request)
The trip price is taken from the gross revenue amount per unit configured for the experience, sometimes called compliance revenue. Brindlechute uses the client count from the submitted guide report to find the matching gross revenue amount — so if your gross revenue differs by group size, the guide report determines which tier applies.
Gross revenue per unit is configured in two places:
On the experience edit page, in the pricing section
In bulk from Permits → Gross revenue configuration, where you can review and set amounts for all experiences at once
The gross revenue method is not enabled by default and cannot be turned on from your account settings. If you'd like your percentage-based guide pay calculated from gross revenue per unit, reach out to Brindlechute Support to request it. This method relies on client counts from guide reports, so it's best suited for organizations where guides submit trip reports.
