If your locations have usage limits, for example from a permit, the Location view of the Assignment calendar shows how much of each limit is used, day by day. Use it to see which locations still have room before you assign trips.
How to see location usage
Click Assignment in the left sidebar, under Calendars.
Click Location at the top right.
Scroll to the location you want to check. Locations are listed under their location group, and locations without a group are listed under Ungrouped locations.
Reading the usage
Each location shows a limit line, a Trip units usage row, and a row of the trips assigned to it.
Limit line: shows the location's limit and the dates it covers.
Unlimited when the location has no limit.
For monthly limits, how much of the limit is used, for example 1/10 trip units per month (Sep 20 – Nov 20).
For daily limits, the limit per day, for example 1 trip units per day (Jan 1 – Dec 31).
Trip units usage: the number of trip units assigned to that location each day. The number changes from green to orange when a day reaches the location's limit.
The Unassigned row stays pinned at the top while you scroll, so you can see unassigned trips alongside your locations.
Checking room when you assign a location
Click a trip on the calendar.
In the pop-up, click the Assign location dropdown.
Each location shows how much room it has left on the trip's date, for example Unlimited or 0 trip units left. Hover over a location to see its limit and how much of it is used.
Select a location with room left.
Locations that are already full are greyed out and can't be selected.
Good to know
Limits come from your location and permit setup. Locations without a limit show as Unlimited.
Usage is also in the Trip calendar. You can see location usage in the Trip calendar's Daily, Schedule, and Monthly views too. See Track Location (Section) Usage in Your Trip Calendar.
Checking location usage before you assign trips helps you stay within your permit limits without counting by hand.
