This article is an overview of the dashboard, a powerful tool to get a high-level look at your company and project status.

The Basics

What is the Dashboard

The dashboard is a powerful tool to get a quick, high-level look at your company and project status. Many builders use the dashboard in their staff meetings or client meetings as they review the status of their projects.

Who can view the dashboard?

Every user who logs in will see some version of the dashboard. In general the user will only see information that they have access to in the other modules. (This access can be set up in the company and project settings.)

Alerts

The alerts will appear at the top of the page. These tiles are a quick look at the recent project activity.

Clicking on the tiles will display additional information about the item and will allow you to navigate directly to the selected item by clicking on the View or Download link.

Widgets on the dashboard

Project Info

This component displays a list of the selected projects in the first column then:

  • Current contract amount which is a total of the initial budget and all approved change orders.

  • Increase - the percentage change from the initial budget vs. current budget

  • Employee logins - the weekly number of logins / views of this project by your employee users

  • Client Logins - the weekly number of logins / views of this project by the clients assigned to the project

  • Subs logins - the weekly number of logins / views of this project by subcontractors and vendors

  • Expired certificates - the number of insurance or license certificates that are expired, assigned to subcontractors or vendors that are assigned to this project.

Schedule

This component displays information related to the selected project schedule(s)

  • Project name

  • Progress percentage - determined by the most recently published schedule

  • Baseline variance - the number of days +/- variance from the schedule published and marked as the baseline. A very useful metric to determine how your team is performing in the field.

  • Est. Completion - the final date listed in the published schedule, or the item marked as "completion date" on the published schedule.

Tasks / Change Orders / Selections / Services

These components display information on the various modules:

  • The tiles will initially display All Clear (Green), or Overdue (Red), with the goal being a screen that's all Green - All Clear.

  • Clicking on the tile will display additional information that is driving the status color and number of items.

  • These tiles can be rearranged on your screen by clicking the 4-point arrow icon in the upper right corner and dragging the tile to the desired location.

Purchase Orders

  • This widget displays information of how many POs exist as draft, how many have been sent, and how many are linked to subcontractor invoices.

  • Clicking the draft and sent amounts will take you to the PO module

Financial Statements

  • This widget shows any draft and sent financial statements (AKA client invoices)

  • AV. Aging shows the amount of time it usually takes to receive payment/mark as paid after it has been sent to the customer

Pictures

  • This widget shows pictures added to the project this week, the total number of pictures, and when the last upload took place
