How to Invite Users to Healthy Cities

Use this article to assist you as you send initial invitations to join Healthy Cities

Updated over 5 months ago

Onboarding to Healthy Cities is quick and easy for participants. Users will need to join individually to create their account and connect their device. They can follow the steps here to create their Healthy Cities account.

Invite users with a challenge invite link

We strongly recommend creating your challenge before sending out challenge communications to your users. Learn how to create a challenge here. Once your challenge is created, it will generate a challenge link that you will send out to participants.

How will users join with the challenge invite link?

The challenge invite link allows users to do 2 things at once:

  1. Create their account

  2. Join the challenge

New users will click the link, which directs them to download the mobile app. Then, they will create their account, connect their device, and join the challenge.

If they already created an account, the invite link will just add them to the correct challenge.

Once a user joins, you will be able to see their profile from the Users tab in the admin center and view their activity data in reports. You will not be able to manage a user, or see their account, until they have joined the Healthy Cities platform.

Where to access your challenge invite link:

  1. When you finish creating your challenge, you will see a challenge invite link in the success pop-up window.

  2. In your challenge dashboard (accessed by clicking on the Challenges tab in the side navigation menu), you'll see the Invite link listed below your challenge description and duration:

Invite users with your organization code

To allow users to join as part of your organization, they can enter your organization code directly into Healthy Cities. You can share your organization code directly to users and ask them to download the Healthy Cities app, or share a unique invite link that will pre-populate the org code for users during sign up. This ensures you don't have errors from users typing in your org code wrong.

Unlike the challenge invite link, this option does not add users to a challenge. It only registers them as part of your organization.

Where to find your organization code

You can find and edit your org code and unique invite link in the Admin Center. Select Settings towards the bottom of the side navigation menu. Your org code and invite link will be in the upper right corner:

There are 2 ways you can invite users with this org code:

  1. Email or communicate this org code to your users. With this option, they will have to enter the code themselves.

  2. Send them your unique invitation link. This link will pre-populate the org code for your users when they download the app. This ensures you don't have errors from users typing in your org code wrong.
