Setting up a Healthy Cities account
To join Healthy Cities, you'll need to have access to either an invitation link or an organization code from your organization's challenge admin.
Typically, this information is sent via an email with sign up instructions. Please double-check any sign up or registration instructions you received from your challenge admin to access this information before proceeding.
Creating an account
Click the invitation link you received from your mobile phone. If you are joining with an organization code instead, please skip ahead to step 2.
Download Healthy Cities from the Apple App Store (for iPhone users) or Google Play Store (for Android users) and then open the app
Select Sign up to sign up for a Healthy Cities account
Enter your organization's code. This code may be pre-filled for you if you are joining from an invitation link. Once you've entered your organization's code, select Sign up again
Confirm your organization by selecting Confirm (If your organization isn't correct, select the "<" arrow at the top left to try again)
Fill out any additional information requested, then enter your first and last name, your email and password, and then check the box to agree to Healthy Cities Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. When you're done filling out each section, select Continue
Check the email you entered for your 6-digit verification code. The email should be titled 'Your HealthyCities Verification Code'
Return to the app, enter the code you received to verify your address, and select Continue
Personalize your profile by selecting a nickname. Nicknames can contain letters, numbers, and spaces, and will be displayed throughout the app. Unleash your creativity and craft a nickname as unique as you are! Usernames must be unique within your organization's account.
Select Update nickname to finalize your account creation. You'll be brought through a quick tutorial of the app, and then you can select Take me to my dashboard to move onto your Healthy Cities dashboard.
Select Connect your device now to connect a device. If you don't have a physical device, you can use your iPhone or Android phone as your fitness tracker. Follow the prompts to connect your device and allow Healthy Cities to access your activity data by selecting Allow when prompted.
You should now be redirected to your Healthy Cities dashboard, where you can view your daily activity, join challenges, and more. Learn how to navigate the Healthy Cities dashboard here.
Now that you’ve finished setting up your account, visit your profile to update your profile photo, add a cover photo, and more. You can learn more here.
Happy stepping!
