Nested Team Leaderboards are a competitive challenge mode that encourage users to work together to win the top spot. Nested Supplemental needs to be enabled in the backend for Healthy Cities to automatically add users into Nested Teams. Please check with the creator of the account if you’re unsure if it has been enabled prior to users joining the challenge.
In the Healthy Cities admin center, click on the Challenges tab from the side navigation. Press “+ Create challenge”.
Now select “Create a Healthy Cities challenge”.
A nested challenge has Nested Team Leaderboard module set in it by default.
This allows creation of department-level teams (Level 2 nesting) for their clients (Level 1 Nesting), letting smaller cohorts of users chat and compete while participating in a large-scale challenge.
· Level 1 (Top Level): Teams are ranked from high-to-low. Rankings in Healthy Cities are based off the team’s average total steps to fairly score teams of any size. User can see stats of their own team members ranked from high to low and cannot see stats of participants of other teams. Please note that in Reporting Level 1 is called Nested 1.
· Level 2 (Sub-teams within a Level 1 Team): Sub-teams are ranked from high-to-low. Rankings in Healthy Cities are based off the team’s average total steps to fairly score teams of any size. User can see stats of their own sub-team members ranked from high to low and cannot see stats of participants of other sub-teams. Please note that in Reporting Level 2 is called Nested 2.
Example: All offices across the country compete against each other to be the Level 1 team with the highest average total step count within that country. All departments inside a particular office compete against each other to be the Level 2 sub-team with the highest average total step count within that team.
How to select Nested Supplemental Questions
Nested Teams will be determined by Nested Supplemental responses during registration. If questions need to be added to the registration flow, please work with the account creator to get these added.
By using Nested Supplemental Questions, users will automatically be added to Level 1 and Level 2 teams of the challenge.
During Sign Up, users need to enter their supplemental information to automatically be added to their Level 1 Team and the Level 2 Sub-team.
