Step 1. Ensure you have Granted Authority with HMRC
Under Setup > Income Tax > MTD IT Settings ensure you have granted authority with HMRC.
Step 2: Access the Returns Dashboard
Navigate to the 'Data Entry' tab > Income Tax Submissions. This will show all expect MTD IT Returns
Click 'Submit' next to the relevant return type
On the screen that appears, you will see details of the quarter you are going to be submitting, including date and calculation method.
On the right hand side you will see your MTD IT category totals. You can drill down into where this figures are made up from via the Income And Expense options in the bottom left.
Report - You can also report on your quarter using the report button.
Step 3: Reviewing
Having followed the steps above, if any changes to data entry is required you can do this in each individual transaction.
Returning to the submission screen will automatically update your report figures.
Step 4: Submission
Click the 'Submit' button to complete the submission.
Important: The Year-End Requirement
Business Manager is designed to manage your four mandatory quarterly updates.
Please remember that these updates do not replace your final tax obligations. You will still need to work with your accountant or alternative software to complete the:
End of Period Statement (EOPS): To account for adjustments like capital allowances.
Final Declaration: Due by 31 January following the end of the tax year.
