The user interface of CyMetric often displays data sets in grid form. The grids can be multiple pages deep depending upon how much data is contained within the CyMetric application. The use of filters can be highly valuable to limit the amount of data displayed in the grids. The normal filter function is a text based seaarch and pulls from all of the available columns sometimes producing more results than desired. Certain grids or tables support enhanced filtering enabling very targeted searches within table columns versus the standard filtering that uses plain text searching. The grids that support the Enhanced Filters are identified in the Filter area. For reference, those grids are the following:
Control Instances
Pending Approval > None Grouping
Information System > Controls tab
Please note that the standard filtering function is still available to use in these tables.
How to Use Enhanced Filtering
In the Filter area, Users can target specific data elements from any of the columns to search for their desired parameter. To do so, Users are required to provide the designated parameter in the Filter/Search area. Each Column header can be used for targeted Search. For example, if Users were looking to find a specific control owner from the Instances module because they wanted to change the current owner to something different, they could target the Owner column for a targeted search.
In the filter area, Users identify the column header to search and the variable to seach for. Using the above example, it would look like this: Owner: Data Protection Officer. This limits the variable search to only one column and will return values that are found within that column. NOTE: The filter parameter DOES NOT NEED to be capitalized in order for the search to return the varibale. It looks for the characters, not the case.
Other options for the filter would look similarly using the column header for the focused search. There are other column headers that may be available on the other grids where Enhanced Filtering is available.

Using Multiple Filters
Users can combine filters as well to limit the results even further. The same filtering method would be utilized but the results would need to meet multiple criteria.
