Accidentally closed a poll too early or need to give students more time to respond? CampusKnot allows instructors to reopen closed polls so students can submit or update their answers.
✅ When You Can Re-open a Poll
You can re-open a poll only if:
The poll has already been closed.
It is not scheduled to close automatically at a future time.
The poll type supports extended submissions (all standard poll types do).
Steps to Re-open a Poll
Step 1 Click 'My Classroom' in the course navigation
Step 2 Find the closed poll, then click the three dots to the right of the poll
Step 3 Choose All members, set a duration, then click Reopen poll
Step 4 Choose 'All members' to allow the poll to re-open for all students or 'Selected members,' set a duration, then click Reopen poll
Step 5 Choose 'Selected members' to re-open the poll for specific students, set a duration, then click 'Reopen poll'
Step 6 The poll now shows a live countdown and reopens the text-submission option for students.
FAQs:
If a student has already submitted an answer, and there's a re-open opportunity, their original submission will not be deleted unless the student makes a new submission.
If a student has not submitted an answer, they'll have the opportunity to make a submission within the re-open duration set during editing.
