Text Message Submission Errors and How to Fix Them

Fix text-message submission errors, including invalid or expired codes.

Written by Cameron

When you submit a poll response by text, CampusKnot replies with a confirmation:

"Your response for Poll [unique poll ID] was successful!"

If you receive an error message instead, find it below to see what it means and how to fix it.

What it means

What to do

"Your phone number is not linked to a CampusKnot account. Please make sure you created an account and that your phone number is entered properly."

The number you're texting from doesn't match the number on your account.

Log in on a web browser, go to your Profile and open Account Settings, then confirm or update your phone number. Text from that number.

"The 4-digit identification number is not valid. Please verify that the poll identification number is correct."

The poll ID at the start of your message is wrong or mistyped.

Check the 4-digit code currently on screen (for example, 9I6K), start your message with it, add your answer, and send it to the number shown on screen.

"Poll [Poll ID] has ended, and your response was not received."

The poll closed before your text arrived.

Nothing to fix by text. Talk to your instructor, they can reopen the poll for you.

"Your CampusKnot subscription has expired. To continue participating, you must renew your subscription."

Your subscription ended and no free trial or pilot is active on your account.

Renew from a computer, tablet, or iPad web browser. In-app purchases aren't supported. Follow the steps in How to Purchase a CampusKnot Subscription.
