When the campus WiFi is weak or the app won't load, you can still participate in class by submitting your poll response as a text message.
Before You Start
Your phone number must be verified on your CampusKnot account. The number you verified is the only number that can submit responses by text.
Text submissions only work from a cell phone.
To find your verified number: on the website, go to your Profile and open Account Settings. On the mobile app, open the More tab and select your Profile.
How It Works
When your professor activates a poll, CampusKnot assigns it a unique 4-digit SMS code. The code appears on the projected screen and in your mobile and web view.
Step 1 Scan the QR code located at the bottom of the 'ongoing' activity
Step 2 You'll be redirected to your text messages. Type your answer after the poll ID
Step 3 Send the message
Step 4 Wait for the confirmation text: "Your response for Poll [unique ID] was successful!"
If you get an error instead, or no reply at all, double-check the code and your answer format.
Format Your Answer by Question Type
Every submission uses the same pattern: the 4-digit code, then your response. If the code is 11K4:
Multiple choice (one selection allowed): 11K4 + c
Multiple choice (multiple selections allowed): 11K4 + acd
Word answer: 11K4 + apple
Numeric answer: 11K4 + 2010
FAQs
→ Does the 4-digit code change?
Yes. Every question gets its own unique code, so confirm you're using the code currently on screen before sending.
→ How much does submitting via SMS cost?
CampusKnot doesn't charge for texting, and the number is local to your country. Depending on your phone plan, the message is free or costs whatever your provider charges for a standard text.
→ What kind of phone do I need?
Any phone that sends text messages works. You don't need a smartphone or the app installed to submit.
