Call forwarding is a feature provided by your network carrier. If you're having trouble setting up call forwarding directly from the CaptionCall app, it may be because your carrier has restricted access to enable it.
You can try toggling on call forwarding either directly from your phone's device settings or by manually dialing your carrier-specific star code.
How to set up call forwarding from your device settings
For Apple devices:
Open the Settings app.
Tap Phone
Tap Call Forwarding
Toggle Call Forwarding on (toggle off to disable Call Forwarding)
Tap Forward To
Enter your CaptionCall number
For Android devices:
Open the Phone app
Tap the three dots at the top right corner
Tap Settings
Tap Calls (or Supplementary services)
Tap Call Forwarding
Tap Always Forward (recommended)
Enter your CaptionCall number
If you receive an error or there is no option for call forwarding, then your carrier plan may not support call forwarding. Please contact your cellular provider for details on adding call forwarding to your plan.
How to set up call forwarding via star code
You can enable call forwarding by dialing a special code into the dial pad of the phone you wish to forward calls from. The star code for enabling and disabling call forwarding is different for each provider; find your provider and dial the corresponding star code:
For AT&T or FirstNet users:
Dial *21* followed by your 10-digit CaptionCall number followed by # (e.g. *21*8085551234#)
Press the call button and allow the code to activate
(To disable call forwarding, dial #21#)
For Boost Mobile, Choice Wireless, Sprint, US Cellular, or Virgin Mobile users:
Dial *72 followed by your 10-digit CaptionCall number (e.g. *728085551234)
Press the call button and allow the code to activate
(To disable call forwarding, dial *720)
For T-Mobile, Assurance Wireless, Consumer Cellular, Mint Mobile, Tello Mobile, or Ultra Mobile users:
Dial **21* followed by your 10-digit CaptionCall number followed by # (e.g. **21*8085551234#)
Press the call button and allow the code to activate
(To disable call forwarding, dial ##21#)
For Verizon, C Spire, Carolina West Wireless, Credo Mobile, Inland Cellular, Liberty Wireless, Net10 Wireless, Optimum Mobile, SafeLink Wireless, Spectrum Mobile, Straight Talk Wireless, Strata Network, Tracfone Wireless, Union Wireless, US Mobile, Visible Wireless, or Xfinity Mobile users:
Dial *72 followed by your 10-digit CaptionCall number (e.g. *728085551234)
Press the call button and allow the code to activate
(To disable call forwarding, dial *73)
