What is a late check-in?
A late check-in happens when you complete your weekly check-in after your scheduled day. Carbon allows late check-ins within a 14-day window from your last check-in. Within that window, your data is processed and your targets update normally. Miss that window and Carbon will not make any adjustments until your next on-time check-in.
What happens if you miss your check-in day?
Missing your check-in day occasionally is not the end of the world. As long as you check in before day 15, Carbon processes your data and updates your targets the same way it would on a normal check-in day. Your macros and calories stay at their current levels until you do.
On day 15 and beyond, Carbon can no longer make adjustments based on that check-in period. Your targets will remain unchanged until you complete your next check-in.
Where to find your check-in in Carbon
Your check-in is located on the Coach tab. Carbon will continue to show your check-in prompt after your scheduled day has passed so you can still complete it when you are ready.
How to complete a late check-in on Carbon
Open the Coach tab and tap your check-in prompt
Log your current weight and body fat (optional) when prompted
Complete the rest of your check-in as normal
If you are within the 14-day window, Carbon will review your progress and make any appropriate updates to your targets.
How to change your check-in day
If you find yourself checking in late regularly, changing your check-in day to one that better fits your routine is the most reliable fix.
Go to Settings, tap Coach Settings, then tap Check-In Day
Select the day that works best for your schedule
Keep in mind that moving your check-in day to a later day in the week will extend your current check-in period beyond seven days for that one cycle. After your first check-in on the new day, Carbon returns to its normal 7-day schedule.
Frequently asked questions about late check-ins on Carbon
How late can you check in on Carbon? You can check in up to 14 days after your last check-in and still receive a target adjustment. On day 15 or beyond, Carbon will not make any adjustments for that period.
Do your macro targets change while you are waiting to check in late? No. Your current macro and calorie targets stay in place until you complete your next check-in. Carbon holds your last set of targets until it has new data to work with.
Does checking in late affect your coaching results? Checking in late does not necessarily affect your results, but consistency is the habit that drives long-term progress on Carbon. The 7-day check-in schedule is designed to build a weekly rhythm that keeps you engaged, accountable, and moving toward your goal. Treat your check-in day the same way you treat a training day. It is a non-negotiable part of the process.
What if you miss the 14-day window entirely? Carbon will not make any target adjustments for that period. Complete your check-in as soon as possible to get your coaching back on track, and consider changing your check-in day to prevent it from happening again.
