Absolute

  • Pacemaker – Never Treat – microcurrent can disturb heart rate.

  • Epilepsy – Never Treat – microcurrent can cause seizures.

  • Pregnancy – Never Treat (if halfway through the course, stop immediately)

  • Allergy to rubber/metal/silicone – Double probes are stainless steel. Body and facial pads are rubber abased coated in silicone.

  • Multiple Sclerosis – Facial and body muscles will not respond.

  • Inflammation/Infection/skin disease – avoid due to cross-contamination.

    Consideration

  • Botox - avoid the area for at least 3 months.

  • Collagen/Fillers – avoid area for 2 weeks.

  • Retin A (oral medication for Acne) – 3-6 months after completion of Retin A

  • Roaccutane (oral medication for severe Acne) 12 0 18 months after completion of Roaccutane

  • Metal Pins/Plates – Avoid area.

  • Dental Implants – Can perform treatment, may experience stronger metal taste.

  • Prosthesis/silicone implants – Avoid Area

  • The contraceptive coil – most coils are now plastic. If metal-based caution for stomach treatments.

    Heart Conditions – GP Note required.

    Cancer – 5 years clear or in remission.

  • Diabetes – okay if controlled – in insulin dependent GP note required.

  • High blood pressure medication – Results may vary.

  • Anti-depressant medication - Results may vary.

  • Tumours – Never Treat – increased blood flow can stimulate growth.

  • Severe muscular conditions – GP Note required.

  • After caesarean section wait 3-6 months

  • After normal birth wait 3-6 weeks

  • Under and Overactive thyroid – GP note required

  • Thrombosis/Phlebitis
