If you found this article you're probably wondering why not all videos in the galleries are autoplaying. Below is a short explanation on why Cevoid galleries don't autoplay all videos at the same time.

First, autoplay can be intrusive and annoying for users. If a website automatically starts playing multiple videos at once, it can be disruptive and make it difficult for users to focus on the content they are interested in.

Second, autoplay can impact the performance of your website. If a large number of videos (that are long) are playing simultaneously, it can cause the page to load slowly and affect the user experience. This can be especially problematic on mobile devices with limited processing power.

Third, autoplay can drain the battery on mobile devices faster than if the videos were only played when the user initiates it. This can be frustrating for users and make them less likely to engage with your website.

Therefore, we have taken the approach to only autoplay the first video in the gallery to catch the user's attention and provide a preview of the content. We are working on some improvements that will make it to the galleries which will allow for more autoplaying of videos,

Planned updates for videos

  • Generate a shorter version of the video that can autoplay instead of the full-length video

  • Autoplay videos on hovering on a thumbnail

  • Spread videos out in the galleries to avoid grouping of videos that autoplay next to each other
