Available now: item History, the New Items views and email alerts on Plus follow the rules below.
ChangePilot distinguishes a new item from a meaningful update to an existing item. This helps you focus on changes that deserve another review without treating every technical timestamp refresh as new work.
New means a new record
A new item is newly added to the relevant source feed. It is not simply an older item you have opened for the first time. Search results, date filters and your access determine what you see, but they do not change an item's underlying identity.
Meaningfully updated means worth revisiting
A meaningful update changes information relevant to understanding or responding to an announcement. Only changes recorded in the item's History count; the Updated by Microsoft date alone is not sufficient.
Open the item and review its History and latest Microsoft content to understand the specific difference. Do not assume that every update requires configuration work: it may change the timing, interpretation or preparation needed.
How this affects View emails
A View email alert lists the items in the View that are new or have a recorded change since the last alert, most recent change first. An item added and then updated within one alert window appears once. If nothing has changed, no email is sent.
The View's date and product filters still matter. An item can change without matching a particular View. Use Watch for an item you want to follow independently of that query.
How this affects watching
Email alerts for your watch list follow changes to the items you watch, across all sources. Bookmarks serve a different purpose: they keep items for later reading.
Make the final review decision
Open the changed item from the result or email.
Identify the updated information in History and the current announcement.
Check whether it affects your tenant, users or previously agreed plan.
Update the relevant task, communication or review note in your team's work-management system.
The classification helps you find review candidates. It does not confirm that the change applies to your organisation or that an assigned action has been completed.
