Matching a Lead or Job with an Existing Customer

Effortlessly match leads or jobs to existing customers in Chariot to centralize records, improve CRM accuracy, and streamline operations.

Updated over 3 months ago

In Chariot, leads or jobs that aren’t initially created from a customer’s page can still be matched to the correct customer profile. This feature ensures that all jobs and customer information remain organized and accessible. Here’s how to match leads or jobs to a customer profile effectively.

Chariot’s Customer Page centralizes jobs, invoices, and payments under one profile, simplifying CRM and repeat customer management.

How to Match Leads/Jobs to an Existing Customer

Step 1: Identify a Possible Match

  1. When working on a lead or job, you may see a banner labeled Possible Repeat Customer on the Intake Tab.

  2. Click the View button on this banner to check for matches.

Step 2: Review the Match

  1. Chariot identifies possible matches by comparing the name, phone number, and email of the job to existing customer profiles.

  2. If a match is found, you’ll see:

    1. The existing customer profile.

    2. A list of jobs already associated with that customer.

  3. Click the link to view the customer details and confirm that it’s an exact match.

Step 3: Link the Job to the Customer Profile

1. If the match is correct, click Link Job to This Customer and confirm your action.

2. The lead or job will now appear under the customer’s profile as a repeat job.

Where to Find the Matched Job

Once linked:

  • Navigate to the Customer Page.

  • Check the Moving Jobs tab to see the newly linked job. It will be listed alongside any other jobs associated with that customer.

Why and How to Use This Feature

Benefits of Matching Leads/Jobs to Customers

  • Improved Organization: Ensures all jobs for a customer are tied to a single profile.

  • Accurate CRM Records: Prevents duplicate customer profiles and siloed information.

  • Streamlined Operations: Simplifies customer tracking, especially for repeat clients.

Ideal Use Cases

  1. Accidental Lead Creation: When a lead is created outside the customer profile, quickly match it to the correct customer.

  2. Repeat Customers: Link new jobs to existing profiles for returning clients.

  3. Consolidating Customer Data: Use the possible match banner to verify and unify customer records.

Best Practices

  • Always double-check matches for accuracy before linking.

  • Regularly review the Possible Repeat Customer flags to keep your CRM organized.
