Managing Reserved Leads: Un-reserving/Booking & Auto-Booking

Learn to effortlessly handle reserved leads on your dashboard - un-reserve or book them when the moment's right.

In this tutorial, we'll guide you through efficiently managing reserved leads in Chariot. Whether it's un-reserving a lead, transitioning it to booked, or letting Chariot book it automatically, we've got you covered.

Locating Reserved Leads

To access your reserved leads, navigate to your leads dashboard. Click on "Reserved" at the top right, or find it at the top of the page. This will display a list of all leads currently in the reserved state.

Inspecting and Un-reserving Leads

Click on a reserved lead, select "Actions," and then choose "View on Schedule." If you decide to unreserve the lead, a simple click followed by the "Remove" option at the bottom left of the dialog does the trick.

Transitioning to "Ready to Book"

When a reserved lead progresses and a customer approves an estimate, manually move the stage to "Ready to Book." This step is only needed if Auto-Book is turned off (see below).

Booking a Reserved Lead Manually

To book a lead manually, click on the reserved lead and select "Book." Confirm the lead is no longer in the reserved state. You can also send an email or text to the customer with essential details about the booking.

Auto-Booking Reserved Jobs

Skip the manual booking step entirely. When Auto-Book is enabled, a reserved job will automatically move to Booked the moment a customer signs their estimate and pays any required deposit — no extra steps needed from your team.

  • When Auto-Book is on and a lead is reserved on the Job Schedule, Chariot will automatically move it to Booked as soon as the estimate is completed (signed and any required deposit paid).

  • Customers will receive both an estimate-signed confirmation and a booked confirmation automatically.

  • This setting is off by default. To enable it, go to Settings > General > Estimate Configuration and turn on "Auto-book job when estimate is signed (if Lead is Reserved)."

Final Confirmation

Upon successful booking — whether manual or automatic — your lead transforms into a job and is no longer classified as a lead. This transition is indicated by the absence of the "reserved" status.
