Part 1 - Creating a Great Photo Shoot Experience
Part 1 - Creating a Great Photo Shoot Experience
Updated this week

Every photo shoot and client will be different, but you should always aim to provide a great experience for them! This could lead them to becoming a regular client of yours, or they may even refer you to their friends and family. (Not to mention they could leave you a good review, for other clients to see!)

To set yourself up for success, try to think of the photo shoot in three different parts: Before, During, and After.

In this article, we'll specifically go over best practices for Before the photo shoot!

Before the Photo Shoot:

  1. Introductions - Before booking, chat with the client in the Cheezoo app to see if you're a good fit! Try to understand their needs and expectations for the photo shoot.

  2. Communicate - If the client decides to book you, make sure to discuss any specific poses they're looking for. Then create a shot list that you can refer to on the day of the photo shoot!

  3. Help Them Prepare - To help create timeless and flattering photos, you may want to make suggestions of clothing to avoid. (Ex: loud/distracting fabric patterns, heavily branded clothing, neon colors, baggy fit, uncomfortable shoes.)

  4. Connect - Try to connect with them and their interests! This will help build comfort and trust.

  5. Set Yourself Up - Make sure your phone is charged and that you have plenty of space on your phone! Check out this article for additional tips as well!

  6. Use Our Recommended Camera Settings - Check out this article for our tips on the best camera settings to us on your phone!

  7. Arrive Early - This not only helps you make a good impression with the client, but you'll have some time to become familiar with the location of the photo shoot.
