Planning your launch date

How far ahead to start if you need stock by a set date.

Written by Nick Lewis
Planning a launch: allow 3 to 5 weeks with your own artwork, or 4 to 7 weeks with Chemsol label design, from paid invoice and approved artwork. Next step: Order samples in the customer portal.

Work backwards from the date you need stock. Lead times run from the day your pro-forma invoice is paid and your label artwork is approved:

  • Your own print-ready artwork. Production takes 2 to 3 weeks and label printing adds 1 to 2 weeks, so allow 3 to 5 weeks.

  • Chemsol label design. Add a further 1 to 2 weeks for design and proof approval, so allow 4 to 7 weeks.

Before that point come your samples (typically prepared within 5 to 7 working days, then dispatched by courier), your own testing, pricing, our review of your order request and payment. How long these take depends mostly on how quickly you test and decide. These are typical timings, not guaranteed dates, and custom formulations take longer.

Three things that save the most time

  • Have your supplier details and barcodes ready when you submit the order request.

  • Pay the pro-forma invoice as soon as it arrives. Nothing is scheduled before payment.

  • Approve your artwork proof promptly. Printing starts after approval.

Your next step: Order your samples now. It is the step that starts the clock.
