How it works
When you apply for the Tangerine Money-Back World Mastercard or Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card through Chexy, get approved for the card, and use it to pay your bills with Chexy, you can earn $900 back in your first year from three different sources of cashback and rewards.
Here's what's included:
$120 when you spend $1,500 in your first 3 months — from Tangerine
This Bonus is for the Tangerine Money-Back World Mastercard, which has a $50,000 minimum personal income or $80,000 household income.
If you don't qualify for that card, you can apply for the Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card. This requires a $12,000 minimum income. The Bonus for this card is up to $100 (10% cash back on $1,000 in spend in the first 2 months).
2% cashback on every Chexy payment — from Tangerine
Requires you to select "Recurring Bill Payments" as one of your 2% categories.
$180 in Chexy Cash ($10 per payment, up to $30/month for 6 months) — from Chexy
Eligible card
This promotion is available exclusively for the Tangerine Money-Back World Mastercard or Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card on applications made on or after April 22, until June 30, 2026. If you applied for the card prior to this, you aren't eligible for the offer.
To qualify, you must apply using the link provided by Chexy, either within the Rewards Calculator or after setting up your first payment on Chexy.
Please note: Applications made directly through Tangerine or through other referral channels are not eligible for the Chexy-specific portions of this promotion.
First payment fee waiver
If you create your Chexy account from chexy.co/cashback and activate your first payment on April 22, 2026 or later, Chexy will waive the fee on your first payment up to $3,000, assuming you're using a Canadian-issued credit card on a personal Chexy account.
If your payment is greater than $3,000, or you're charged a higher fee (for example, because you're on a Business account or using an internationally-issued credit card), Chexy will apply an equivalent fee discount ($52.50) instead of a full waiver.
This first-payment fee waiver cannot be combined with other Chexy promotions and is not available to existing Chexy users.
Breaking down the cashback
Here's how the cashback adds up if you make $2,500/month in payments through Chexy. There are three sources of cashback working together:
Tangerine Bonus (Month 1): In your first three months, the Tangerine Money-Back World Mastercard offers $120 cashback if you spend over $1,500. In Month 1, this means:
$120 in cashback from the Bonus
On top of that, $50 in cashback, since this spend also qualifies as a Recurring Bill Payment. This will earn 2% ongoing cashback. You'll just need to select "Recurring Bill Payments" as one of your 2% categories.
Tangerine 2% ongoing cashback (Months 2–12): Then, all Chexy payments will continue to qualify for 2% cashback as a Recurring Bill Payment. At $2,500/month, that's $50/month in cashback.
Chexy Cash (Months 1–6): Once you've been approved for the Tangerine credit card, you'll earn up to $30/month in Chexy Cash on top of your Tangerine cashback. This consists of $10 per payment, up to $30/month. See Chexy Cash section below for details. A payment is each separate bill you pay through Chexy.
The below chart assumes that your $2,500 in spend is spread out across 3 separate payments (i.e. rent, utilities, insurance).

Your total cashback before fees is $900 across the year. After accounting for Chexy's processing fees, your net gain is approximately $375.

There's no cap to the 2% cashback you can earn through Tangerine, so if you spend more, you can earn even more cashback
This cashback is available to both existing and new Chexy users. Just apply for either Tangerine credit card using the link provided by Chexy, either within the Rewards Calculator or after setting up your first payment on Chexy. You must be approved for the card.
How Chexy Cash works
Chexy Cash is a reward you earn on top of the cashback from your Tangerine card. Here's how it works:
You earn $10 in Chexy Cash per payment, for up to 3 payments per month, for 6 months, for a maximum of $180 in Chexy Cash over the period.
The 6-month earning period starts from the date of your card approval, not your Chexy account creation date.
Chexy Cash must be used towards future Chexy recurring or one-time payments. It cannot be cashed out or transferred.
Chexy Cash is credited to your account after your payment is completed. This means after your bill pay is sent, your e-Transfer is deposited, your PAD is withdrawn, or your EFT is sent.
Chexy Cash cannot be combined with other Chexy promotions.
