With Chexy, you have three convenient automatic payment options for rent: Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD), Interac e-Transfer, and Bill Pay. All methods cost the same and allow you to pay your rent using a credit card. The method you choose will generally depend on which option your landlord accepts.
For Interac e-Transfer and Bill Pay, Chexy sends the payment to your landlord. With Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD), your landlord initiates the request to withdraw funds.
We charge your preferred payment method 3 business days before your rent due date to ensure timely processing.
Interac e-Transfer
If you’re paying with Interac e-Transfer, we’ll send the rent payment to your landlord via Interac e-Transfer at 12 pm EST on the day your rent is due.
Bill Pay
Bill Pay allows you to pay rent directly to your landlord or property manager through the same system used by major banks. You’ll select your landlord or property manager from a registered list of payees and enter your unique account number, typically found on a bill or statement. On your rent due date, Chexy sends the payment and ensures it’s linked to your account number so your landlord can identify it.
Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD)
If you’re paying with PAD, your landlord will use their own system to initiate a request for the rent amount. This request will withdraw funds directly from your Chexy Wallet using the account details provided during onboarding, on the scheduled due date. The timing of this transaction depends on when your landlord initiates the withdrawal.
