What is the Difference Between Paying with PAD and e-Transfer?
Updated over 2 months ago

With Chexy, you have two convenient automatic payment options for rent: Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) and Interac e-Transfer. Both methods cost the same and allow you to pay your rent using a credit card. Generally, the method you choose will depend on which option your landlord accepts.

For both PAD and e-Transfer, Chexy charges your preferred payment method four business days before your rent due date.

Interac e-Transfer

If you’re paying with Interac e-Transfer, we’ll send the rent payment via e-Transfer at 12 pm EST on the day your rent is due.

Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD)

If you’re paying with PAD, your landlord will use their own system to initiate a request for the rent amount. This request will withdraw funds directly from your Chexy Wallet on the scheduled due date. The exact timing of this transaction depends on when your landlord initiates the withdrawal.
