Paying Municipal Property Taxes in British Columbia

Sign in to your Chexy account at app.chexy.co

Click “Pay a bill”

Select “Property Taxes”

Find your exact payee name based on your municipality using the chart below.
​Make sure it matches exactly so your payment gets sent to the right place.

Enter your account number from your property tax bill.
​This is how your municipality will know the payment is from you, so it’s important to double-check that it’s correct.

Enter the amount shown on your bill.
​Chexy fees will be automatically added before you process the payment so you don't need to include them here.

Click “Pay now” to process the payment using the card on file.

If you want to use a different card than the one currently on file, you'll need to exit the flow by clicking the “x” in the top right corner. Then, update your card details by clicking “My Card” on your dashboard before returning to press “Pay now.”

​Don’t worry, we’ll save your progress as a draft so you won’t need to start from scratch.

Chexy will submit your payment via bill pay 3 business days after you click “Pay now.”

Please note that processing times can vary depending on your municipality, so it might take up to a few weeks to be marked as paid by your municipality. However, once it’s received, it’ll be credited as the date we sent it.
