Step 1: Open the Clip in Opus
Log into Church.tech and navigate to the clip you wish to edit.
Click on "Open in Opus Clip." This will take you to the editing interface where you can fine-tune the selected clip.
Step 2: Access the Transcript
Once you're in the Opus editing window, you'll see the transcript next to the video.
This transcript shows the full video content, with bolded sections representing the part currently included in your clip.
Click on +Add a section to add more to your clip.
On the modal you can toggle between: Screenplay (Transcript with timestamps) or Video (Video footage with sliders) to select which section to add to your clip.

Step 3: Add Sections to Your Clip
Identify sections you want to add by scrolling through the transcript.
If you want to include a part that appears earlier or later in the video but isn't currently in the clip, locate the section in the transcript.
Select the desired clip by clicking on it in the transcript, or use the video player to navigate to that portion of the video.
To select a portion on the transcript to be added to your clip, use your cursor to highlight in green the unbolded transcript of the section of video you want to include in the clip.
Add the section by clicking the + Add button in the bottom right hand corner next to the transcript or adjusting the toggles under the video.
The platform will automatically add the selected part to your clip, and you'll see the clip's duration update.
Step 4: Trim the Clip
You can also fine-tune the start and end points:
Set the start: Play the video and click "Set as Start" at the point where you want the clip to begin.
Set the end: Similarly, find where you want the clip to end and select "Set as End."
You can also split the clip by choosing different sections from the transcript or manually adjusting the video time markers.
Step 5: Save and Compile
After making your adjustments:
Review the changes by playing the clip.
Once satisfied, click Save Changes to re-render the clip.
The edited version will be ready for download and sharing.
Bonus Tip: Adjusting the Layout and Aspect Ratio
Within Opus, you can also change the layout and aspect ratio of the clip to suit different social media platforms. For example, you might want a zoomed-in view or a different frame size for Instagram.
By following these steps, you can efficiently edit and expand your video clips using the transcript, ensuring you capture the key moments you want to highlight.
