What are the internet and Wi-Fi requirements?

How the studio box and riders' phones connect, and why a stable internet link is always needed.

CicloZone is cloud-based, so a stable internet connection is always required — for both the studio box and riders' phones.

How the pieces connect

  • The studio box (Android TV device) connects to your TV by HDMI and to power by cable, and reaches CicloStudio over the internet (Ethernet recommended, Wi-Fi if reliable).

  • Riders' phones connect to CicloStudio over the internet too (studio Wi-Fi or cellular) — not by Bluetooth to the screen. Bluetooth on the phone is only used to pair the bike and heart-rate monitor.

For the studio box (CicloHub or Android TV)

  • Minimum: ~10 Mbps — roughly the standard requirement for 1080p streaming.

  • Ethernet is strongly recommended for stability.

  • Wi-Fi works too if it's reliable.

For riders' personal devices

  • Any good, stable internet connection.

  • We recommend connecting personal devices to the studio Wi-Fi rather than cellular for the most reliable in-class experience.

  • Cellular data is supported — the app works identically on cellular, with no functional limitations.

What if the connection drops?

CicloStudio has a short offline tolerance of about 5 minutes. If the connection comes back inside that window, the class continues without being exited.

If the studio Wi-Fi or screen fails entirely, the class can still run on riders' personal devices — see "Can I run a class without the studio screen?".

Can I download classes for offline use?

No. Content is always streamed.
