CicloZone only updates your stored FTP when you accept the recommendation at the end of a class — and even then, only if the recommendation isn't "keep the same".
How it works
Initial FTP — at the start of your CicloZone journey, the app suggests an FTP based on a quick questionnaire, or you can enter it manually.
After each class — based on your in-class performance, the app does one of three things:
Suggests increasing your FTP.
Suggests decreasing your FTP.
Keeps it the same (no change suggested).
You decide — when a change is suggested, you choose whether to accept it.
Adaptive FTP — a different flow
Adaptive FTP is when a rider wants to specifically treat a normal class as an FTP test to get a new FTP result.
Turn it on in the first 5 minutes of class.
FTP is constantly adjusting during the class based on how well you do against zones, changing resistance.
At the end of class, you get a fresh FTP recommendation based on that ride.
Accept or keep your existing FTP — your choice.
Why isn't it on by default?
If Adaptive FTP ran on every ride, your FTP would constantly move up and down with your daily condition (tired, sick, energetic) and stop representing your real FTP. So Adaptive FTP is opt-in, for the days you want a fresh assessment.
How to set or change FTP manually
Open the CicloZone app.
Go to Profile → FTP.
Enter the value in watts and save.
