CitySpark’s reverse publish system is built to export event data in a flexible way, allowing you to design and style the content however you’d like on your end. To get started, we’ll need to create a template for your account. Please send the following information to jana@cityspark.com.
Event Details
Let us know which event information you want included in your publication. Examples:
Event Name
Date
Time
Venue Name
Address
Pricing
Order of Information
Specify the order in which the information should appear. Providing a clear example is very helpful. For example:
Date (Thursday, March 23)
Event Name: Time (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.). Venue Name, Address. Pricing.
We’re looking for a clear example of how your publication currently looks or how you would like it to appear. If you have an example of your current publication, we can use that to create your template. Please send it to jana@cityspark.com.
Once we have this, we can begin creating your template.
Next Steps
We will send you the template for review.
Confirm that the layout looks correct.
Schedule a call to walk through how to use the template.
Important Note for InDesign Users
If you are using InDesign for print styling, we can include any Paragraph Styles and Character Styles you’ve created in InDesign. This allows your export to automatically apply styling when imported into InDesign.
Please note:
Styles must already exist in InDesign.
We cannot create styles or add individual style details such as font, size, or spacing.
You must use the InDesign export option for this to work properly.
Style Naming Requirements:
Style names cannot contain spaces.
Names in CitySpark must exactly match the style names in your InDesign file.
Examples:
Instead of:
Calendar Date
Body Copy
Calendar Subhead
Use:
Calendar_Date
Body_Copy
Calendar-Subhead
You can use underscores, dashes, or another character, but the names must match exactly between CitySpark and your InDesign file.
Email jana@cityspark.com if you have any questions.
