Finding Your Calendar Script

  1. Log in to your CitySpark admin account at admin.cityspark.com.

  2. Make sure Events is selected in the top navigation, then go to Portals > View Portals in the left sidebar.

  3. Find your portal in the list. If you manage more than one, use the Search box or the Account filter at the top of the page to narrow it down.

  4. Click your portal's Portal Name (or its ID) to open that portal's settings page.

  5. The very first section at the top of the settings page is HTML Snippet for Embedding Portal (Main Calendar).

  6. Click the copy icon to the left of the script to copy the entire snippet.

  7. Paste the script into your website on the page where you want the calendar to appear.

A Couple of Things to Keep in Mind

  • Give the calendar its own landing page.

  • Place the calendar script directly on that page.

  • Make sure the Placement URL matches that page's address exactly.

Set Your Placement URL

Directly below the snippet, in the Portal Name & Account section, is the Placement URL field. This must be the fully qualified URL of the page where you pasted the script. If it doesn't match, the calendar won't load. If you move the calendar to a different page later, update this field and click Save.

You can preview your portal at any time using the Test Page link in the same section.

Using WordPress?

There's no need to paste the script by hand. Install the free CitySpark Events and Embeds plugin: in your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New, search for "CitySpark Events and Embeds", then install and activate it. In the Gutenberg editor, add a CitySpark Portal Block and enter your Script ID, found in the Portal Name & Account section of your portal settings.

Want More Detail?

Click More Info in the top-right corner of the HTML Snippet for Embedding Portal (Main Calendar) section. It explains where your script is served from, your own custom domain versus the default CitySpark portal domain, and includes the WordPress instructions above.
