Channels are perfect to organize claap videos that belong to a project or area (e.g. product demos, sales meetings recordings, and training videos). Channels are always associated with a team to make them easier to find and share.

Channels overview

Channels bring order and clarity to work β€” you can create them for any project, vertical, or sub-team. With the right people and information in one place, teams can share ideas, make decisions, and move work forward.

All the channels to which you are invited are listed in the lateral bar, below the team they belong to. Click a channel name to open it and see its details: description, invited users, and related claaps.

Sharing a channel

When you invite users to your team, they immediately get access to all workspace-shared channels.

Workspace members with access to a channel can also share it directly with other users. They can invite collaborators via email or with a public link (as explained below).

Sharing a channel via email

You can invite collaborators to channels via email. To invite via email on any channel:

  1. Click on the Share button at the top right of the topic screen.

  2. Enter the email address of the user and click Invite.

  3. The invited user will receive an email with a link to the channel.

  4. If they don't already use Claap, they can sign up to access your page.

Sharing a channel with a public link

Once you make a channel accessible for visitors, anyone with the link can immediately access it and all the claaps that live in that channel. To invite visitors to a channel:

  1. Click on the Share button at the top right of the channel screen

  2. Next to Anyone with the link select the right permission level

  3. Copy the link from the same window

  4. Anyone with the link can now access your channel

Re-organize channels

You can re-organize channels within the same team or move them between teams. Just drag and drop to adjust the order of your channel.

Tips and best practices

  • Use workspace channels to increase transparency within your organization and easily share information across your workspace.

  • Make sure to add precise names to your channels to ease cross-team collaboration and project management.

  • Illustrate each channel with a relevant icon. This will make it easier for people to find and move around different content in your workspace.

  • Add a description and thumbnail to the channel to show what it's for. This will give people more information about how to use it.
