Clearent: Saved Card Integration in CleanCloud

Learn how to set up and use Clearent Hosted Payments to securely store and charge customer cards.

Overview

Clearent Hosted Payments is one of two payment integration options in CleanCloud (the other is CleanCloud Pay). With Clearent, you can securely store customer credit card details for faster checkouts, recurring transactions, and automated pickup & delivery payments.

Getting started with Clearent Hosted Payments

To begin:

  1. Visit the Clearent website and submit the required details.

  2. A Clearent representative will contact you to complete onboarding.

📌 Availability:

  • Available in the U.S. only

  • Requires CleanCloud Version 2

  • You must choose either CleanCloud Pay or Clearent—both cannot be used simultaneously


Setting up Clearent

Once you’re onboarded, Clearent provides API credentials. Sometimes these will be entered by Clearent staff; if not:

  1. Go to Settings → Admin → Payments & Finances → Payments.

  2. Locate the Clearent Payment section.

  3. Enter your Public Key and API Key.

  4. Toggle additional options as needed:

    • Let customers add credit card in app

    • Require customers to add credit card before they can place an order

  5. Click Submit to save.


Charging a saved credit card

From the Ready page (POS)

  1. Go to the Ready page.

  2. Click Payment next to the order.

  3. In the pop-up, select Pay with Saved Card (Clearent).

    • If a card is stored, it will be charged automatically.

    • If no card is stored, enter details manually.

From the New Order page (POS)

  1. Create or edit an order on the New Order page.

  2. Select Pay with Saved Card (Clearent) as the payment method.

  3. Click Submit to process.

From the Driver App

  1. When marking an order as Delivered, select Pay by Card.

  2. The system will attempt to charge the stored card automatically.


Managing stored credit cards

You can manage saved cards from the Customer CRM.

Adding or updating a saved card

  1. Go to the Customer CRM.

  2. Click Edit Customer.

  3. Find the Clearent Credit Card section and click Add Card.

  4. Enter details manually or use Use Card Terminal for secure input.

  5. Click Update to save.

✅ Stored card details include:

  • Expiry date

  • Card type

  • Last four digits

  • Date added


Editing a billing zip code

Billing zip codes cannot be edited directly. To update:

  1. Delete the saved card.

  2. Re-add the card with the correct billing address.


Enabling Clearent for pickup & delivery app

  1. Go to Settings → Admin → Payments & Finances.

  2. Scroll to the Payment section.

  3. Toggle the options you need:

    • Let customers add credit card in app

    • Require customers to add credit card before they can place an order

  4. Click Submit to apply.


⚠️ Important:

  • Customers must enter their zip code when saving a Clearent card in the web booking tool and app.

  • For added security, contact support to enable zip code verification and block mismatched transactions.

  • You must choose either CleanCloud Pay or Clearent—they cannot be used together.
