Clinician Nexus is designed to help you, as a student, manage your clinical experiences from start to finish. The job shadow and observation applications available in Clinician Nexus are posted, and managed, by the clinical site coordinator. This article is intended for students who have received a direct application link.

After reading this article you will be able to...

  • Apply for Job Shadow or Observation Rotations

  • Complete Rotation Onboarding

  • Communicate in Clinician Nexus

Before Applying

  • Before applying to clinical experiences, please be sure to select a role as a student:

If you need to access this page, click here to add/edit your role.

  • You can select the school or organization you attend(ed), work for or, if neither of those are applicable, you can select I'm not enrolled at a school:

Note: Selecting I'm not enrolled at a school will automatically assign you to Clinician Nexus Sample School.

  • You can input your discipline (observer), year of study and graduation date and select Finish:

Rotation Onboarding

If your application is accepted, your rotation will move into Onboarding status. This means you have site-specific onboarding steps to complete.

To view and complete onboarding steps:

  • Click on the clinical experience card to open the details window.

  • In the details, you can view information about your clinical rotation.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the window to access onboarding steps requiring completion.

Note: Sometimes individual onboarding steps will need to be completed by a school or clinical site coordinator. If that step hasn't been completed yet, your rotation will remain in Onboarding status until the coordinator has completed it.

Once these steps are complete and/or verified, your clinical experience will move into Ready status.
