Cancelling, changing plans and contract terms

How to cancel or change a business plan, how firm contracts and renewals work, and Clockwork's no-refund policy

Cancelling, changing plans and contract terms

Business plans

Business plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract, and you can cancel from inside the app. Go to Settings → Billing, where a Master Admin can manage the plan, update the payment method and view invoices.

Monthly subscriptions renew automatically on the anniversary of your term unless you cancel first. Annual billing is available and saves 20% against the month-to-month price; annual subscriptions renew automatically each year unless you give 30 days' notice.

Firm plans

Firm plans run on annual contracts at wholesale pricing, billed monthly or annually. They renew automatically under the terms in your agreement unless you give notice — generally 30 days for an annual term. Your renewal date and notice period are in your agreement, or ask us and we'll confirm them for your account.

Moving between tiers

If you outgrow your tier, we'll move you up rather than bill you per file. Firm client-file counts are fair-use allowances, not hard licence limits — Start covers around 10 client files, Scale 30, Growth 80, and Enterprise beyond that. There are no per-file charges, no seat fees and no forecast limits on any plan.

If you need to move down a tier, message us and we'll sort it out with you.

Refunds

Clockwork doesn't offer refunds. Subscription fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable under our Terms & Conditions (Sections 6 and 21(n)). Cancelling stops your subscription renewing — it doesn't refund the period you've already paid for, and you keep access until the end of that period.

The terms carry one narrow exception. Under Section 14(b), either party may terminate the agreement for cause if the other is in material breach — and doing so requires written notice of the breach plus 30 days to put it right. Where you terminate on that basis, Section 14(c) refunds prepaid fees for the unused portion of the term within 60 days. In every other case, fees for the terminated term are non-refundable.

Billing problems

A charge that looks wrong is a different thing from a refund request. If you've been billed twice, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount you don't recognise, send us a message in the chat and we'll look into it properly.

Trials

The 14-day trial doesn't require a credit card, so nothing charges automatically at the end of it. You choose whether to continue.
