Client setup: one invitation link (and payment offers)

Clients use one invitation link for account setup. A payment plan adds offer and card steps on that same link — not a second link.

Written by Thomas Egelund

Clients use one invitation link. That same link is how they set up their account — and, if you have assigned a payment plan, how they accept the offer and add a card.

Each client gets a unique invitation link. You can:

  • Send it by email from the client's profile (invite / account setup email), or

  • Copy it under the client's profile in Settings → Access and send it yourself if they did not get the email

What the client sees after opening the link depends on whether a payment plan is assigned:

  • No payment plan assigned: they only complete account setup (profile + password) and get into the app.

  • Payment plan assigned: the same invitation flow also asks them to review/accept the offer and add payment details before finishing.

2. The payment offer (a step, not a second link)

Assigning a payment plan from the client's Payment tab is what turns on the payment part of that invitation flow. Billing only starts once they have accepted the offer and completed payment setup. Until then, the offer stays pending and no payment is taken.

Why a client can have access but not be paying

App access and payment offer acceptance are tracked separately. If a client has used their invitation link without a plan — or they set up the account but have not finished the payment steps yet — they can already be in the app while Payment still shows Pending. That is expected, not an error.

If your client has not accepted the payment offer

Open the client's Payment tab and check the status:

  • No plan assigned: assign a payment plan first. Then send (or resend) the invitation so they can complete the payment steps on the same link.

  • Plan assigned, status is Pending: the client still needs to open the invitation link and finish accepting the offer / adding a card.

Ask them to check inbox and spam/junk for the invitation email, or copy the link again from Settings → Access.

Remember: being in the app does not mean the payment offer has been accepted.

⚠️ If the offer has already been accepted but a payment is failing, that is a card problem rather than a pending offer. In that case the client can update their card details from the secure card link instead — find this directly in the app by opening Profile and scrolling down.
