Overview

The User Response Panel dashboard widget allows a user's previous answer to a question to be displayed on the homepage of your app providing an immediate way for them to see their response. The widget is particularly useful when users need a reminder of goals or achievements each time they sign in to your app. By clicking on the panel the user is taken directly to the question.

πŸ“Œ This widget is available for both mobile and web applications.

Step 1: Add the User Response Panel widget to your Dashboard

1. In Cogniss Creator, navigate to Dashboard in the left sidebar.

2. Click on Add new widget in the top right of the page.

3. In the Dashboard widgets library, search for the User Response Panel widget and click Add. Return to the Dashboard by clicking on the cross in the top right.

4. The User Response Panel widget will now be on your Dashboard and ready for you to configure as needed.

5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Configure the User Response Panel widget

1. Click on Add panel to choose the first user response to be displayed. In Title heading text, you can add the question or a statement that makes sense in the context of the response being displayed.

2. In Activity, click on the dropdown menu and select the activity that includes the relevant question.

3. In Question, click on the dropdown menu and select the question to which you want the user's response to be displayed.

4. Enable Customise panel content if you want to customise how the user's response is presented in the panel. Here you can reframe or expand the user's answer into a clearer, more personalised message. Rather than showing the raw response exactly as typed, using CML. You can learn more about CML in the CML Overview article.

5. Click Add panel to select additional user response panels if you need to and repeat the previous steps.

6. Additional settings are available when using multiple panels in User Response Panel include:

  • Display random order - when multiple panels have been added you can select this setting to randomize the order in which they appear.

  • Pin first panel - if you've selected to display panels in a random order, you can choose to pin the first panel you've created in the widget.

7. Once you have updated the widget, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

8. Open your app to preview your User Response Panel widget and to test that it works as expected. You will need to complete the question(s) that has been added to the User Response Panel widget to ensure it displays correctly.
