Introduction
App users experience content blocks in an activity based on the views it is grouped in. By default, each content block is displayed on a separate page/screen.
This requires the user to press "continue" to view each subsequent content block. This can create a poor user experience if you have a lot of content blocks in one activity.
Views allow you to group content blocks grouped together, allowing you to display multiple content blocks on a single page.
Setting Up Views
In Content, navigate to the "Views" tab within the relevant subject the topic is located in.
Click "Create new view" in the top right-hand corner and input the following attributes:
Title: data label, not visible to the app user.
Button label: this is the text that will appear on the navigation button at the bottom of this page.
Then, select the content blocks you wish to include in this specific View by opening the dropdown menu. You can add as many content blocks as needed into a View by selecting "add content blocks".
Repeat the process for the desired number of Views.
Click "Save changes".
Test it on your app! You'll now see your view with all the content blocks you have allocated to it.
Please note: Ensure you do not include the same content block across multiple Views, as this can cause issues.
Examples of Views
There are various ways you can use Views based on the experience you are aiming to deliver. For example:
A survey where there are certain questions that are related to each other (demographic, psychometrics, contact details).
Create a single page so the user can scroll down to see all the content.
FAQs
What if some of my questions are allocated Views, and some are not?
By default, Questions that have not been placed into a View will be displayed individually (i.e. like a View with only 1 question allocated) at the end of the activity, following the linear order listed in Creator. Content blocks in Views take priority over content blocks that are not in a View.
To easily control where your content blocks will show in your activity, we recommend that you allocate all content blocks into a View.
Why is there a random content block appearing at the end of an Activity?
This is probably because a content block has not been allocated a View. Make sure you have added it to the specific View you wish to include it in.
