New Scheduler Notification Updates
In the 2.24 release, we've updated the notification scheduler designed to manage larger user groups and offer enhanced notification message management and update capabilities.
Notifications using the previous scheduler can now be accessed under the Scheduler (Legacy) tab within Automation / Notifications. The legacy notifications will remain functional, we recommend using the updated Notification Scheduler for all future notifications to take advantage of its improved capabilities.
Introduction
The Notification Scheduler allows you to create and send notifications based on how you want to prompt your user throughout their experience. For example, you now can send them a welcome email from a user sign-up or send a check-in reminder to your users to complete key tasks in your app.
You can choose between 2 delivery methods: Push Notification, and Email notification. With these delivery prompts. you can set scheduled messages depending on how and when you want to engage with your user.
To access the Notification Scheduler:
Open Cogniss 'Creator'
Go to the Notification page under the 'Automation' tab
Create a new notification
To create a new notification:
Click the 'Create new' button on the top right-hand side of the page
Input name and type as required
Hit the 'Save' button and it will automatically navigate you to the notification scheduler custom page
The notification scheduler has 4 steps to complete - Message, Recipients, Scheduling, and Preview.
1. Message
The first step in creating your notification is the Message page.
This page allows you to select your notification's type of delivery method: Push notification and Email notification. You can type up your new notification message or select from the message pool that you previously created.
Instructions:
Choose a desired delivery type
Push notification - sends your message notification via a clickable pop-up. These can appear on a lock screen or in the top section of the mobile device
Email - sends your message by email to the user’s email address. Useful for newsletters and sign-up emails.
Click and add a new message button and a pop-up modal will appear
Fill in the message title and message body text boxes
If you select Push notification, you can add a deep link that opens a certain activity directly when the notification is pressed.
If you select Email, you can add ‘Image’ which will be attached at the end of the email content
Click the “Next” button to move to the next step: Recipients
Message Pool
Previously, messages were created for one-time use, but with this update, all newly created messages are now saved in a Message Pool for easy reuse.
Any new message you create is automatically saved in the Message Pool.
To reuse a message, click ‘Select from Message Pool’ to open a modal popup and view your saved messages.
The Message Pool displays only the selected type of messages (Push Notification or Email) for easier filtering and selection.
Note: If you update an existing message in the Message Pool, it will also update in any notifications where that message is currently in use.
2. Recipients
The recipient page allows you to choose and filter the user groups before sending the message notification. Admin can choose to send to all users, use app user filters or custom filter option.
Instructions:
Select whom you want your notification to send
