Introduction

Creating engaging and effective web and mobile apps on Cogniss requires an understanding of the Activity components within Cogniss Creator.

An Activity is a single experience your users go through in your app. It can be anything from a single screen of content, a collection of multiple screens of content, to an interactive game or VR experience.

An Activity typically consists of three essential components that contribute to a common structure:

  • Start screen: The launch screen or initial interface that introduces an Activity to the user.

  • Content screen: This forms the core of an Activity, encompassing the body of information or interactive elements presented to the user.

  • Feedback screen: The concluding screen that provides feedback, assessment or summary based on the user's interaction within an Activity.

Start screen overview

Introduction

The Start screen, also known as the Launch screen, is the first screen that introduces users to the Activity they are about to engage with. It plays a vital role in setting expectations for users by providing an informative introduction.

Additionally, this screen is an excellent opportunity to showcase your company's brand using a custom background image or color.

You have the option to add Start screens to any Activity in your app, but first, you need to enable them to make them visible.

How to add a Start screen to your Activity

  1. Find your app in Creator

  2. Go to the Content tab and locate the specific Activity

  3. Scroll down the page and click on Enable Start screen

Content screen overview

Introduction

The Content screen serves as the central component of an Activity. It encompasses a diverse range of content types, including text, images, and videos, which are strategically organized to deliver a cohesive and engaging experience.

The Cogniss platform contains various Content Activity templates which you can use to display your content, depending on the type of user experiences you want to create.

For more information on some popular templates, see below:

Feedback screen overview

Introduction

The Feedback screen serves as the final interaction point between your user and an Activity. On this screen, you can provide valuable feedback, assessment results or a summary based on the user's engagement and performance. This screen aims to encapsulate the user's experience and provide closure to their journey within an Activity or application.

One of the primary purposes of this concluding screen is to offer feedback on the user's performance. You can evaluate the user's actions, progress and achievements throughout an Activity, providing a comprehensive summary. This feedback can take various forms:

  • Text content

  • CML* user question-response feedback

  • Score feedback

  • In-app virtual rewards feedback such as badges, XP, and in-app currency.
