Overview

This feature improves assessment activities in Cogniss by randomising both question and answer option order creating unpredictability. Creators using the Content and Survey can enable Randomised Contents, which treats each content block as a question and displays them in random order. Additionally, creators can randomise answer options for Multi-Choice and Multi-Select questions, preventing users from memorizing patterns and encouraging deeper content comprehension.

This feature is not yet available but is expected to be released soon.

User Experience on Mobile and Web

On mobile and web, after enabling this feature, app users will encounter a different question sequence each time they engage with the activity. Both the order of questions and answer options will be randomised, ensuring a fresh experience with every attempt. This prevents users from memorizing patterns and promotes learning and understanding of contents, enhancing overall comprehension.

Possible Use Cases:

  • Surveys: Preventing respondents from memorizing questions and answers sequences, ensuring more accurate and thoughtful responses.

  • Assessments: Randomising both questions and answers to create a challenging environment, ensuring users engage deeply with the material rather than relying on patterns.

  • Educational Quizzes: Ensuring fairness by shuffling questions and answers for each user, making it harder to predict the correct answers based on position.

Key points to note:

  • This feature is only available in Content and Survey templates.

  • Creators have the ability to show only specific questions from a question pool.

  • Enabling the Questions Randomisation feature will disable the views and display each content block in a separate page in random order.

  • The randomisation of answer options is applicable with Multi-choice and Multi-select content block types only.
