Syla is a crypto tax platform that automatically imports your Coinstash trading history, calculates your capital gains, and generates a report ready for your accountant or the ATO. Setup takes about 5 minutes.
Step 1 — Open Data Sources in Syla
Log in to your Syla account at app.syla.com.au. From the left-hand menu, click Data Sources — or click Add Data Source on the dashboard.
Step 2 — Select Coinstash
In the Add Data Source panel, find and click Coinstash from the list of exchanges. You can also use the search bar to find it quickly.
Step 3 — Generate a read-only API key in Coinstash
After selecting Coinstash, Syla will show setup instructions alongside an Access Token field. You'll need to create a read-only API key in your Coinstash account.
In Coinstash:
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Account Settings
From the left menu, click Security, then scroll down to API Keys and click Create API Key
Enter Syla as the API Key Name
Enter your Coinstash password
Toggle Trade Permission and Withdraw Permission both to OFF
Click Create API Key and enter your 2FA code if prompted
⚠️ Important: Keep both Trade and Withdraw permissions OFF. Syla only requires read access — it cannot and should not be able to trade or move your funds.
Once created, your key will appear in the API Keys list with Permissions: read.
Step 4 — Paste the token into Syla and sync
Copy the Access Token shown in Coinstash
Return to Syla and paste it into the Access Token field
Make sure the Sync tab is selected (shown as Best)
Click Secure Sync
Syla will import your full Coinstash transaction history. Within a few seconds Coinstash will appear in your Data Sources with a green sync indicator and your transaction count.
✅ You're all set! Head to Tax Reports in Syla's left menu to view your capital gains summary and download your annual tax report.
