What is a Bespoke Course?

A "Bespoke Course" in TUTOR is essentially a customised course that a Teacher can create using any combination of the full range of "Ideas" available on TUTOR. These can then be assigned to individual pupils, classes, intervention groups and more. For additional information on how to assign the course once you've created it, click here.

How do I create a Bespoke Course?

1) Navigate to the 'Courses' section.

2) Click the 'Bespoke' courses button and select "Create Course."

3) You will see a list of the ideas available in TUTOR, arranged in order from Stage 1 to Stage 15. You can use the filters at the top of the screen to narrow down ideas by stage, strand or topic (as well as use the search function to find a specific idea!)

4) When you've found an idea that fits with the course you want to build, you can click the green "+" button and add it to your course. If you want to remove the idea after you've already added it, click the "-" button.

5) Once you've added some ideas, click "Next Step" and you can then order the ideas to when they will be encountered in the course. The first idea encountered in the course will be at the top, whereas the last idea encountered in the course will be a bottom. You can click and drag the ideas to what order fits best with your Bespoke Course. Once this is complete, click "Next Step."

6) Now you've ordered the ideas, it's time to name your course. Just add the name you want your course to appear as on the platform. (For example: "Year 10: Angles")

Then you can create a description that best fits the course to explain to other teachers what the course entails. For example, if you've picked a course that covers prerequisites for angles in a shape, you can add this as a description to remind yourself (or other teachers in your institution) what the course is, if you wanted to reuse the course later!

7) Finally, you'll get a visual representation of what your Bespoke Course will look like for students. If everything looks good - click "Next" and confirm that you're ready to create your Bespoke Course. Your Bespoke Course will be ready to enrol to students under the name you assigned to it!
